High Purity Pig Iron (Richards Bay Minerals)

An ilmenite derived product from mainstream Titanium Dioxide extraction. It is ideal for ductile iron production, ensuring consistent quality and low levels of deleterious elements.

Mineral Sands (Richards Bay Minerals)

Zircon

Available in prime or standard grades, packaged in 40kg durable paper bags or 1 Ton lined bulk bags. This product is used in the ceramic, refractory and foundry industries as glazing, mould and core material. Standard grade Zircon is upgraded to a micronized Zircon (opacifier) by means of a calcining process and is available as Prime Calcined Zircon – more suited to high quality ceramic applications.

Rutile

Available as 92% or 87% TiO2, packaged in 40kg or 1 Ton bulk bags. This product is used in the welding products and refractory industries.

Pig Iron By-products (Richards Bay Minerals)

Beach iron is produced when high purity pig iron slabs are crushed into manageable shaped blocks. Due to its high carbon, low residuals and minimal slag content beach iron provides significant value to steelworks and grey iron foundries. Beach iron pieces vary in size but generally have a maximum thickness of 400 mm, a maximum width of 750 mm and a maximum length of 1200 mm or 750 mm (depending on the amount of processing requested).

Nickel and Cobalt (IMPALA PLATINUM SA)

Nickel is available in briquetted or powder form with a purity of 99.8%. Normal packaging – sealed 250kg drums, smaller packaging may be arranged. Laboratory certificates are available for each batch of Nickel produced. LME GRADE

These are the most popular general purpose inoculants, but a full range of more specialized Barium, Manganese-Zirconium, Strontium, Bismuth and Lanthinium containing inoculants are available on request. These inoculants are available in granule (furnace, ladle, and late stream), powder (pipe), cored wire and tablet form.

Ferro Titanium – Sizing 10 – 35mm 68% – 72% Ti 4% – 5% AI

Ferro Aluminium with Aluminium content of 60% – 65% is available on request. This heavier source of Al is ideal for furnace de-oxidation; increasing recovery and reducing slag formation.

Ferromolybdenum – Available in the standard 1 – 10mm sizing as well as 10 – 50mm with 64% minimum Mo content.
